~ Itinerary Outline ~ 

Mon 3rd Nov Arrive Paro. Transfer to hotel. Afternoon sightseeing in Paro valley. Visit Paro Ta Dzong Museum and Rinpung Dzong

Tue 4th Nov Drive to Punakha (2½hrs). Full day sightseeing in Punakha valley. Visit Dochula pass, Chimi Lhakhang and drive toward the Punakha Dzong.

Wed 5th Nov Drive to Phobjikha. (3½hrs). Visit Gangtey Monastery and options for short hikes.

Thu 6th Nov Drive to Bumthang via Trongsa. (5hrs)

Fri 7th Nov Attend Jambay Lhakhang Drup Festival. The festivities consist mainly of masked dances performed in gorgeous silk costumes, chanting, blessing & reading religious texts. Thronging with locals, these occasions are a visual delight.

Sat 8th Nov Sightseeing in Bumthang. Visit Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing monastery.

Sun 9th Nov Return drive to Wangdi (5 hrs)

Mon 10th Nov Drive to Thimphu (3½hrs). Visit the Chang-gangkha temple, takin reserve, Dechenphodrang Monastic Institute Finally, take a stroll to the Memorial Chorten.

Tue 11th Nov Full programme of sightseeing in and around Thimphu. Institute for the 13 Traditional Arts (Zorig Chusum), Institute of Traditional Medicine, Visit the Folk Heritage Museum, Textile Museum and the impressive Thimphu Dzong (Trashichodzong).

Wed 12th Nov Early morning drive to Paro and hike to Taktsang temple. Afternoon Visit Drugyel Dzong and Kichu Lakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan.

Thu 13th Nov Flight Departure Tashi Delek!
